The Royal Australian Mint produces products each year to commemorate the Lunar New Year cycle. 2025 is the
Year of the Snake, and I was tasked to create the packaging for the tetra-decagon coin.

This product needed to be sylistically different, whilst still aligning with existing products within the Mint’s Lunar Series product line. The reds and golds connected this product to the others within the line, while the vectors differentiated it (the others used minimal line drawing artwork styles). 

I created a snake pattern in Illustrator, applying different tones to scales to create an illusion of depth and movement. Orchids echoing those on the coin were added to surround and compliment the coin design.
