Pop-up store fit-out - Royal Australian Mint

A temporary space while the Mint got changed.

In 2023 the Mint went through a refurbishment of its’ shop and gallery spaces. In the interim, they needed a space to sell their new releases from, and host the many school groups that come through the Mint to learn about coins.

Myself and one other designer in my team collaborated and led the design of the external signage, internal graphics, and floorplan of the shop space.

We needed the shopfront to be recognisable as the Mint from across the square to draw in potential foot traffic, so we blew up the logomark and other branding elements. Once customers entered the store they could see ‘Welcome’ signage next to a giant $1 coin.

We had some limitations to work with; the heritage listed windows and the existing architecture. The Mint’s branding ended up fitting in well with the existing gold poles and vinyl that was required to stay up.
